File Optimizer Add-on for Larapen

Important: this is not a standalone application. It is an add-on for Larapen, which must be purchased and installed first.

Make your site faster without touching a single template. The File Optimizer add-on scans your storage, compresses images, PDFs, videos and audio files, and generates WebP copies of your images. The optimized files are kept in a mirror folder and served in place of the originals through a couple of server rewrite rules, so every page immediately loads lighter files while your originals stay untouched.

Better Core Web Vitals, Lower Bills

Smaller files mean faster Largest Contentful Paint, better SEO scores, less bandwidth and less storage. Optimization runs on your server with the usual binaries (jpegoptim, pngquant, cwebp, ghostscript, ffmpeg) or, when they are not available, through cloud APIs such as TinyPNG, all processed in the background by queue workers.

Everything the Optimizer Does

• Storage Scan: Finds every optimizable file, shows its size and potential savings, and lets you filter and search.
• Images & WebP: Lossy or lossless compression with a quality setting, plus WebP generation served to browsers that support it.
• PDFs, Videos & Audio: Document compression with Ghostscript, video and audio re-encoding with FFmpeg and configurable bitrates.
• Local or Cloud: Use the server binaries or plug in API credentials; the add-on picks the available engine.
• Bulk & Progress: Optimize one file, a selection or everything, with a live progress bar and a per-batch report.
• Automatic Serving: Generated Apache/LiteSpeed and Nginx rewrite rules serve the optimized copy, with a live probe to test them.
• Safe by Design: Originals are never overwritten; delete the optimized copies at any time to roll back.

How It Works

1. Configure & Scan: Choose the quality settings and engines, then scan the storage.
2. Optimize: Run "Optimize All" or pick the files; queue workers process them in the background.
3. Serve: Add the rewrite rules to your server and visitors receive the lighter files automatically.
